Lost! Wilderness Safety for Kids
(and their parents)
Use these Safety Rules before going into the woods:
Always tell someone where you are going and when you plan to be back!
Never go alone! Always use the "Buddy System".
If you do get lost, DON'T PANIC! Stay calm!
Stay where you are! "Hug a tree!"
Stay away from water and ice! They can be dangerous!
Carry a poncho and a whistle! Blow the whistle and then listen!
Never follow pets into the woods; they will find their way home. Tell an adult.
