Field Grid Teams and Field Support Personnel

NESAR’s Field Grid Team and Field Support Personnel are trained to meet or exceed standards set forth by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Members begin at the Search Team Member (STM) level and progress through the Field Team Member (FTM) and Field Team Leader (FTL) levels as they gain practical Search and Rescue field experience and fulfill classroom requirements. Field personnel are expected to become proficient in map and compass, field grid search techniques, clue awareness, crime scene preservation, communications, wilderness evacuation and other fields of SAR expertise.  Members will gain a knowledge of Basic First Aid/CPR and may train for specialized SAR fields such as low and high angle rope rescue, man tracking, mountain bike search and rescue, water/ice rescue and more.  Field personnel are expected to be self sufficient for two days of field operations.
